How to carry multiple boards - 2010/02/01 09:32 Hi Guys,

Just wondering how i go about carrying 3 boards on my roof rack...

with just one i put it fins up fins forward facing (the bonnet).

The boards i have are 2 x 8 ft and 1 x 7ft.

so basically just wondering how they go on top of each other...should i take the fins out of one of the 8 footers or are they ok to sit on top of each other?

Thanks in advance

Re:How to carry multiple boards - 2010/02/01 20:17 150km/h with this stack only fixed with a softrack?
Absolutely irresponsible !

I drove more than 250.000kms over the last 30 years with boards on top and had no problems exept one tour at Morocco with one of those unsteady softracks during a offshore Sahara storm blowing the complete load away.

Here is what I recommend:

First get a roof-mounted luggage rack which is really fixed at the car. Buy thin foamtubes for termal waterpipe insulation and use them as a tube-nozzle and between each layer of boards. Staple boards with nose in front - the longest one first. Remove fins if possible, if not, top load with short offset. Pull strong belts over all boards, do not bent the boards too much. Thread a rope trough all deck leash plugs to prevent boards from sliding forward under the belt when using breaks.

DON'T DRIVE MORE THAN 110kmh/70Mph WITH MORE THAN 2 BOARDS LYING UPON EACH OTHER !

Re:How to carry multiple boards - 2010/02/01 21:37 I just hate the buzzing noise i used to get most of the time. my dad could always get it perfect, but I usually got that bussing sound coming from the straps. then i got a truck and just throw everything in the bed Kawika
