Date: from Aug 4, 2008 to Aug 24, 2008
Surf trip description:
I went to Japan with all my family to see my wife's family. It was not really a surf trip. But I brought an old surfboard with me (6'2'' rusty) in case of waves. I will let this board in Japan. We are on the west coast of Japan which is not the good one for surfing. But surf's up sometimes with tropical storms in summer or tempests during winter.
2 photos representatives of Japan:
I have to eat: I love japanes food but, below it was a little too much for me :
I went to the Noto Peninsula which is a beautiful coast with carraibbean beaches. all of the 3 photos below are surf spots.
The last one shows the jetties you find everywhere in Japan. You have to urf carefully and it destroys the landscape.
People of Noto Hanto:
I have checked all the maps. No waves. But the 15 august, a small tropical storm came and I get some small waves. The lessons:
I went near Fukui to explore other spots. I take my surf but I was unlucky:
Oshima island: a wonderful surf spot. It's a reef, a left, along the cliff on the right of the photo. The wave finishs just at the entry of the temple. This is the type of spot which make you buy an airplane ticket!
And I got the SURF: Check the VIDEO
