Haambatia - Highly recommended during the big winter swells or storm-surf. It`s a wave between to seaward-facing wave breakers & starts to rear-up just outside & then between the 2 breakers it starts to peel-off frontside with a well formed thick wall. You can get tubed here if you negotiate the drop &, as the wave smacks the sandbar. Be careful as the beach-break can be very radical! The groms move over to here from the 'Marina' & the teenie-weenie`s surf-school bring them here when it`s safe & not gnarly. Locals are 'ucla' (real friendly), just talk to them & share your surfing experiences with them.
