- My wife and I just got back from Khao Lak...the swell hit perfectly on Tuesday morning. If you go to Thailand, stop by the Pakarang Surf Shop (it's next to the Apsaras Hotel in Khao Lak) and see Ching and Shannon. They will hook you up.

thailand - Hey! im going to travel around thailand, laos,kambodja,vietnam and some more maybe.. but im wondering if there's places to hook up some surf on the trip? never been down that road and have no ideas of what or where im going :)

Surfing - hey, im heading to bali for a month and i thought i would drop by thailand before i head home for chrissy/new years can anyone give me a heads up if there is any waves around this time even if there just 1ft i dont think i could go a christmas day with out a wave plus where is some place to go for sure so i can locate myself around these areas

Waves In Thailand Nov-Mar - Aloha. During the NE monsoon period (Nov-March) waves can be found in the Gulf of Thailand from Hua-Hin down to the Malaysian border with the potential for size getting better moving south. Windswell is generated by cyclones, storms and strong winds coming moving down into South China Sea. Commonly a few days of strong onshore winds followed by a couple of days of surfable waves as the wind drops off. Sheltered spots offer rideable waves during big storm swells. Less wind usually early morning and late afternoon. Happy hunting.

surfing in phuket.. again - oh ya, id consider myself intermediate. prefer righthand breaks if there are any.. i dont mind lefts though. dont really like beach breaks unless they dont close too much. am ok with it being semi shallow. just not too big of risk for ding city or new reef tattoos all over me. thanks again!

surfing in phuket end of november or beginning of december - are there any waves at this time? i'm interested in making a trip over there for a weekend from singapore. worth it? best breaks with cheap places within walking distance? thanks!
