?Donde esta es los mensos de Pais Vasco? - What u 'hard case' local boys do not get is there have been many more surfers around the world that were surfing waves as big as u ever have & they did so alone coz it was long b-4 ANY of these "los Payasos" were born! Mother ocean will take care of ALL these 'little locals' 1 at a time; NOTHING EVER CHANGES when it comes right down 2 that 'little' fact BOYS!!!

To all aggressive locals - Don't ever leave your village ever. If no one is welcome at your place than you're not welcome anywhere either. Stay there for the rest of your live, never come out. You're a guiri yourself when you surf the spot of the next village.
Or maybe you should move, cause you wanna be so damned cool and aggressive. Well move to south central LA, the Banlieus of Paris or to any Brazilian favela. Real tough people will eat you alive.
Guiris' tax money is invested in your country through eu financing while pulling their own weight, don't forget that!!!!!!
If you haven't bought the beach, it's not yours!!!!!!

I imagine it could be tough - I've been surfing la salvaje a couple of years now and I haven't come accross any problems with anyone, maybe because I am now accepted, I am not sure.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter where you go you will always come across a** holes and beach kings, part of life, just got to try and avoid it.
Besides that, when it's on la salvaje is one of the best beaches around and the right hander is really something special.

summer 2005 - Hi!

This summer of 2005 is bringing news from La Salvaje. The parking is not free anymore and entrance is not allowed to anything bigger than a small van.

One local note; captain flint has founded the new church of believers of the true surfing. An inspiring movement to prevent deviations in the spanish surf scene.

what a nightmare - My name is Greg and I´ve been visiting the basque coast recently and after looking for waves we finished in the La Salvaje Beach for three days.
First day it was ok but after checking that in the morming of the second day the point break was empty we got in.
In just 5 minutes a group of 2 surfers and 3 bodyboarders came in also.
It looked that the chief was a surfer (later we knew he was Uchaita or samething like that) started to tell us off and disturbing the morning. One of the bodyboarders droped in to my mates first wave and told him not to try it again.
Second wave and the same crap. Second drop into...nasty
I know that this beach is fullfilled everyday in the summer but that is not the reason to fuck my surfing.
CAREFULL WITH THE BODYBOARDERS!!!! TOO AGRESIVE!!!!

the spot of the wall - Just in front of "triangular" there is another spot in this beach called "the wall". This is considered as the Bermudes triangle of the beach for its abnormal effects on people. When someone starts going to the wall is not unusual to see him/her quitting surfing in a few months. Bodyboarders can become longboarders and even frenzy traveler-surfers can remain stucked in this spot for years surfing 2 feet waves.

Collateral effects of the wall are growing beards on people, vans´boughts, vocabulary reduction and job lossneses. A tendence to talk about absurd conversation subjects has been also developed by some individuals.

The wall is, summarising, a spot you can have a try as a visitor but being carefull you don´t let yourself being trapped.

Shallow right hander - Hi

This beach is home of one of the gnarliets waves I´ve ever seen, the "treeangoolar". With hardly two inches of water above the reef, this wave can be only surfed in medium to high tides. Not many people is crazy enough to surf the "tree" since it is a really fast wave with a take off almost impossible and every session there leaves a snapped board. Among this selected group of surfers is the local "captain flint" who is the only paddle surfer in the line up with the tow in guys when the "tree" gets big.

From my point of view, this wave really deserves its place in the list of the heaviest waves on the planet. It should go side to side with Tehaupoo or shipwrecks.

respect for all - I must say that being a german bloke I´ve been surfing this beach for three summers now and I never had a similar experience. This underlined, I must say that I witnessed some heavy fights in the line up of La Salvaje. The powerful righthander of this beach is the home of a rough group of locals. Trying to catch this right hander is a suicide by itself since the drop is mainly by the air and with hardly a few inches of water.
Locals don´t let people surf this wave anyway, so if you go to this beach, you´d better surf in the left area of the beach.
There is a friendly local called PEPE you can always talk to. He can be a good chance for getting into la salvaje´s vibe.
