danny - More northerly aspect than surrounding breaks, picks up more swell, but exposed. Is good on clean groundswell and holds size...but no defined channells so nitemare paddle out.

(if ya read this a big thank you!) the big yelow chopper arrived and plucked him out "with is board" top guys,,,, think it was a combination of brown ale the night b4,, massive sutherly swell and the rip was working big guns.. ( the other 3 of us were sound and never had much of a problem.. the waves were so cleeeeeeen) any one know of a way out of this rip when ya get nailed in it? e mail me... can ya paddle out of it when it has dragged u out a bit??? or around the rocks to the north... ? we got it all on video 2 ha ha ha ha thanks in advance... NEVER SURF ALONE! THANKS AGAIN TO THE COAst GAURD..

Surf with a view - Bamburgh works when most others aren't and delivers classic waves left and right. Beautiful backdrop of the castle. The waters are clear and the surrounding villages are not comercialised.Uncrowded beaches and long enough to find your own spot. Well worth a visit if your up that way.

When its on, its on...... - I have surfed Bamburgh for 14 years, I think the only way to describe this break is awesome, with a well lined northerly swell, light offies and a pushing tide the left hander at the north delivers the goods. Walling nice and fast before giving an end bowl section. Perhaps one of Bamburghs biggest draw cards, apart from its consistency, is that it works on all tides, meaning that the shore break at low tide through the reform dishes barrels and beating a plenty. Its sick, when Its on, its magic...........
