Mr - I don't care if you've been 'surfing here for 10 years' - if you really respected it you wouldn't post it on here. Don't bring your friends
De then i got stuck in the hartland race for three days and ended up in Germany. , 29-06-2007
surfrunner - I can down from croyde for the weekend and surfed off the slipway at tripple over head, broke my board and had to paddle all the way round to the safer left hand beach.

OR YIS CUZ - You also have some of the ugliest women on the planet and a tendency to molest members of your own family. Bit hey cuz, not everyone is perfect.
De pastie surfers are funny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , 07-05-2006
god save the queers - Ha Ha I live in New Zealand and we have world class waves everywhere! Your never more than a 100km from the sea any where in the country and we are only 150 euros & 3 hours from Aussie, Fiji, Samoa if you feel like somthing different. You guys gotta travel and maybe youll stop taking the surf in your country so seriously.

- Who the fcuk from London with money comes to Devon anyway! The weather's shit, the waves are fickle at best (admittedly not by the rest of Englands standards but rarely anything to get excited over) nd overcrowded with the bristol / plynmouth crews and its actually cheaper to fly to Biaritz than drive from london to devon, the food and wine is better and cheaper, the waves are in a different class and you can always find your own space!! Otherwise go to morroco, € 6 a night to rent a house on the beach and surf wicked empty waves in boardies!! Devon can keep its pasties and stop slagging off londoners who might dispatch a small contingent to the area every weekend but get over it, i don't remember the locals being given ownership at the beaches!! The sooner croyde charges for access to price out the locals the better!!!

Well... - ...just to show you how dense the guy is that posted this, he calls it 'regular' with regards to consistency then goes on to say that it only breaks 5 times a year and says its a left when its obviously a righthand shorey that closes out most of the time.
De I didn't shoot Chen sui-bian. , 29-03-2004
The Key point - The key when it comes to surfing the quay is not to bother. The best wave in this area is a right hand point that breaks beneath the lighthouse at Hartland Point on a large spring high tide and a big swell. The locals call it "Portland's" after Bill who used to live in the lighthouse and was probably the best surfer ever to surf the place (the Kelly Slater of the Hartland surf scene)It's also where the legendary Jan Hardoff learnt to surf before he was ruthlessly kidnapped by the KMT about a year ago and forced to work somewhere in S.E asia harvesting beetle nut.Rumour has it he will be back this summer possibly more sarcastic than ever.

I agree - Hartland is a right hander and the epic left hander story is only to get the Londoners to fuck off. The right used to be sick but now it's rubbish. Middle bit closes out hence really short rides, not worth it really.
