Locals at TP... - Wave is great when there is a swell. However, this place is polluted with all the needles and crack pipes you "locals" leave behind. As soon as you pull into the parking lot you will notice a bunch of trailer trash hanging out in their "trailers" and giving hard looks to guys who are not in their "crack-gang". I remember hearing some crackhead say "that's my chevy boy!" - over and over again. He had some serious mental problems, so keep that in mind if you go out to TP. No point in fighting these morons, they might pull out an AIDS infected needle and stab you.
On the other hand, no one follows the rules in the water, so drop in or snake whoever you want and just be sure to leave before the bums on the beach gang up on you.

Hotdogs? - Hotdog? Who are you gidget, Frankie Avalon? Always knee high? Learned from Hollywood? You sound like a transplant fool who couldn't get waves there. You know nothing about the history of this place. Everyone talks crap about Topanga yet are all there when it's good and the beaches are walled.

Who dat? - I saw the funniest thing ever here this past June. Local ripper (goofy foot, rides rusty shortboards, name?) gets burned badly and run over twice. Kicks both those kooks out. Then someone else drops in down the line and quickly kicks out. Local ripper freaks out and starts challenging him to a fight. This man is little off-put, having just paddled out and not witnessed the chaos earlier. He gives the local ripper "one last chance" to take it easy. No dice. I'm sitting there thinking, this guy must be a trained fighter. And I was right. Fight was over in 1 minute. Local ripper was "done for the day" while the other guy paddled right back out. The lineup got really friendly after that!
