Gulf Coast Pride - I gotta give it up to the gulf, even though it's not the best surf area in the world we have the best sessions out there and some pretty fun waves. Whether it's Texas, LA, Alabama or Florida we all kick ass.

Chandeuler Islands? - Sounds good, but post some pics. How far is it off the coast (in miles).

De Frankie Avalon , 14-05-2006

Chandeuler Islands is the best spot in the N. Gulf to surf - getting to their on the other hand makes it the worst spot as its 30 min to 1 1/2 by boat to get to the breaks. Also beware of bull sharks as this is one of their primary nursing areas. One spot on the islands was secretly famous for its big break where waves (7 to 9 consistent in the winter) and 2 to 5 during the summer. This is one of the only places where the swells come straight from the deep gulf onto the shallow island chain.

Remember however you can't camp out on the islands as it is a national wildlife refuge and you'll have birds going kamakazee on you if you invade their space. This is also a limitation unless you have a boat that you can sleep on for overnight stays. PS the fishing is awesome out there.

South Padre Island - Woooooo were do I start on SPI it is a good jetty/beach break/sandbar wave the very best on the coast of the Gulf Coast of the USA , fun fast hollow waves , and som4e secret spots down in Mexico that I can't tell you are reeeeli good , so you will just have to map out the Gulf Coast of Mexico to find the spots . Holly Beach Fishing Jetties - Dudes , the surf is up here in Holly beach , Louisiana I went to surf there for the first time and the surf was firing during Katrina 6-10 can you believe it Louisiana , it was a clean swell , great right handers , and great lefts you just ride it till the beach , and with offshore winds I call it barrelcity cuz every wave is just a barrel the waves are very strong , I suggest jump the jetty but if parts of the jetty are wet I would not take any chances okay very little people know about this spot so don't let out the secret !!!!!!!!!

SurfSide Nigga - Thats the way we do in surf side in texas. we go hard recently i went to cabo san lucas and surfed some of the bigger breaks there but i learned here in texas coast. We go hard in texas and tear it up and any one who can talk about texas(in a bad way) needs to be shot. But yea it is a nice calm place to learn and get better.

Galveston - I personally don't surf (although I'd love to learn how) but I hear of a lot of people who surf on our waves and I've seen people surfing too. We may not have as great of waves as other places, but we have some.

ALABAMA POINT/Florida & Ala border - OK, I hate to be the one who lets the cat outta the bag, but I lived on that coastline locality for nearly 20 years, and got plently of good, occasionally MONUMENTAL surf, esp right after hurricanes hit. There's Alabama Point Jetty, Johnson Beach, "The Cove" (Orange Beach Public Beach @ the Pier)... Hurricanes battered this coast last summer, and I'm no longer a resident there, but I'd imagine that the fall and spring surf is still pretty good, just watch for the low pressure areas pushing into and going stationary in the gulf, when the wind turns to east-southeast get ready!
