- Hahaha yes! My thoughts exactly.

As in, its "a type of fence constructed in such a way as to deter livestock from brushing up against it...with sharp wire 'BOBs' along its length..."

Got that right off of Ignorapedia :)

Barbwire? - I grew up in Raymond/South Bend and surfed Westport almost everyday in the late eighties- early nineties and let me be the first one to tell you that there is nothing between Grayland and Raymond worth paddling out into. But if you are a crazy S.O.B. and have some crazy friends pick up a large Sea-Doo and go check out the Willapa bay bar during a good size swell on an outgoing tide. You'll need the Sea-Doo because the current is very swift and I believe it would be near impossible to paddle into position.

Another thing you can do if you have the patience is a couple of times a year with a good storm the swell will push upwards of 15+ feet in Westport and when it does it's usually shit but sometimes waves start breaking in the Graysharbor river mouth. Perfect peeling walls that break left and right and seem to go on forever.

Legit - this spot is for real. most people don't think there's much rocky shore south of Grenville...but there is. there's a handy Surf Spot Locator on nwBroweather. Pretty slick Google maps stuff.

BS - Yep, I agree with most of the above....B*ll Sh*t! I surfed for a decade throughout the entire state and have never even heard of it and I have friends who are born and raised on that coast. As for surfing in Washington...be prepared for lots and lots skunk trips - it is incredibly fickle, fu*kin cold, and gloomy. But when it happens it is magic. In the end, I got so disillusioned with the surf that I moved to Australia. Now I score perfect waves on a regular basis. Nevertheless, I still have nostalia for cold, classic Autumn sessions up at 'the Bay'....
