- this place shouldnt be listed as for experienced surfers apart from the take off which is a little hollow the wave is fat I would say it is one of the best learner waves i have ever surfed easy paddle or walk out learners should stick to the second section for ease of take off does not work very big after about 3 foot it breaks into or behind the peir i saw a sea otter there

recommended - we had a much better time surfing here than the punta hermosa area. it may need a bit more swell but the wave goes off, the town has a friendly vibe and has some cheaper eats and accomodation.

way over rated! - this place isn't all that. alwayse smaller than pta hermosa, and when the swell pumps it closes out or has such a pumping current that it just isn;t that fun to surf, not 4 stars

GOOD AND BAD DAYS - AS ALL BEACHES, CERRO AZUL SOMETIMES SUKS AND SOMETIMES SHINES. CERRO AZUL WITH A HUGE SOUTH OR SOUTH WEST SWELL DIRECTION USE TO SUCK (THE LEFT HAND SIDE) BUT THE RIGHT HAND WAVES WITH A HUGE SOUTH SWELL LOOKS LIKE INDO. WITH THESE SWELLS, I RECOMEND YOU TO SURF CERRO AZUL DURING THE LOOSING SIZE OF THE SEWLL. CERRO AZUL WITH NORTH OR NORTH WEST SWEEL USE TO BE PERFECT. NICE DROP BEHIND THE HILL (BE CAREFULL WITH THE ROCKS) AND MANY TIMES AT THE INSIDE, YOU CAN GET A NICE BARREL. THE THE BEACH, WITH 2 SECTIOS 2DS AND 3S WITH A NICE WALL AND FAST SECTIONS. WITH NO SWELL OR TOO SMALL SWELL ASK THE LOCALS FOR THE "FABRICA" (FACTORY) A NICE BEACH BRACK, SANDY AND LEFT ANR RIGH SIDE. (BEST SESON: SUMMER WITH OFF SHORE WIND AND WAVES WITH WEST DIRECTION)

good but not 4 stars - a nice place good waves but has a couple of mushy spots. surfed it many times from thigh high to about 3 feet overhead. best at chest to head high, fun but not 4 stars. not much fun with four other surfers and six spongers.

Hey Patrick!!! - Hello, you have to reply this message.

NOT SO PERFECT - It´s not a world class breack, however I surfed long hollow lefts with no crowd. The waves had something like 4 feet, a little overhead, and it was drop them, some snaps, then some cutbacks and slashes, and then get out and return running by the beach to enter the peak and catch another. Great waves!

PERFECT PLACE TO LEARN TO SURF - Who hasn't surfed this waves in his childhood or in his early surfing days? Almost everybody in Lima has. This point-break has like 5 different sections, which vary in speed, power and size. Even when the swell is big children surf in the sections which are nearer to the shore without bothering the experienced surfers which gather at the point. This wave can sometimes be big, but it lacks power as it isn't a barrel wave, whipe outs aren't that painfull in this spot!! Very safe place for children to surf. The only thing you gotta worry about is not getting swept to the groyne on the right hand, though this is very difficult unless you paddle like an old lady!1
