Informações suplementares
Powerful but slow righthand reef break that looks more like a point setup. The wave breaks into a rocky bay with loads of penguins. Put it under the pros or kamakazi section because of the water temp, which is usually freezing. Wind always blows here, was lucky to have surfed it considering the elements. The swell is always consistent but the wrong wind destroys it quickly. Simular climate to surfing in Iceland. The wave looks simular to J-Bay back in S.A, a colder version. To my knoledge I am now the 2nd person to have surfed it!

Ambiente
Marion Island is 19 km long by 12 km wide, and the two islands with Prince Edward island have a combined area of 316 square km and politically form part of South Africa's Cape of Good Hope Province. The islands are volcanic in origin, with Marion having many hillocks (secondary craters) and small lakes. There are no trees and the temperature is usually well below freezing. There is only maybe a small gap in the year of about 2 weeks to surf in, not sure. The island is home to a handful of scientists and weather, wildlife experts.

Came here with family last year. Not exactly a surf destination but if you dont mind the wind and cold, then youll find a handfull of descent, uncrowded (if you dont count the seals) surf spots on Marion and Prince Edward island. Wind will make this place unsurfable for most the year but if you happen to come in the right season, take a look. Global warming has increased the average temp by 2 percent...lucky for us...!

Is it good? - You will be lucky to get a day when the wind doesnt blow but I have heard of there being waves here and at Prince Edward island. Any idea how to get here and is it worth it?
