Blacksands is accessed by the same road that goes to Holtekamp. There is a small road to the left (west) just before arriving at the shore line, with a small wooden guard shack. Sometimes at the guard shack someone is collecting money for "accident insurance" (not optional when they are there). Take the dirt road to the left. Various places along the beach offer access. These places are somewhat maintained by the land owners who often charge Rp25.000-30.000 per car. The road is not well maintained and full of potholes. The better surf spots are about a couple of kilometers or more back along the road.
