English (Traduzir este texto em Português): This wave goes off and rarely is surfed. There are a few people that work in the restaurants that surf, but it's mainly visitors. When there's a swell, it is better than Garbonzo(considered the premier spot).
Ambiente
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Not crowded and no localism. Just don't act like an idiot when you're in the water.
Geral
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): This little Island is one of the easiest and best surf trips off the Florida Coast.

Some Truthful Insight to Rush Reef - I lived in Elbow Cay for almost three years, and loved surfing Rush Reef (the spot now referred to that is out front of the Abaco Inn). It definitely is one of my favorite spots to surf, but one thing is for sure, this is NOT a world class break. I've surfed world class breaks, and although this is a very good wave, you can't say it's a five star rated spot. It's possibly a four star, but I would more likely call it a three star rated wave (on average). Secondly, in all the times I've surfed there, I have never once seen a shark in the water while surfing, though I did have a 6' shark tail me all the way in from the reef after I spear-fished a grouper. You can bet your last dollar you'll see them if you're spear fishing, but not likely if you're just surfing. Compared to many other breaks in the Bahamas, sharks don't really frequent this spot like I've seen in other places off James Point, Walkers Cay and Hole-in-the-Wall. Enjoy!
