Take the water taxi from Bocas del toro to isla Bastimentos. Walk from the Town promenade in Isla Bastimentos, 20 minutes across the hill to the heavy beach break. If it recently rained, the walk will be in knee-deep mud. You can alternately take a water taxi directly to the beach IF the swell is not too big...they run the boat right to the beach and will not do so if the surf is really heavy. MUCH better for Bodyboarding. Check the point on the left-end of the bay as well. It has potentially good waves. Be careful for strong rips along the entire beach.
