Brazil

This region of Brazil has a lot of different surf spots with a mixture of reef and beach breaks. It is also great fun to explore, with some isolated, uncrowded breaks and fun surprises for the surf explorer. It is not one of the best known regions for surf due to the fact that strong, consistent trade winds blow from the East throughout most of the year, which can make good surf difficult to find unless you are prepared to drive and/or have some good knowledge of the region. The main season for swell is also quite short (predominantly during the months of December to April). However, during this time there are some decent surf spots to be found. Many of the spots only work at specific tide levels, so perseverence is essential for travelers to the region and its also worth asking the locals who are very friendly and willing to give you information if you ask politely - a break that appears totally flat when you arrive may start firing for just 2 or 3 hours at a particular tide level so do plan your trips carefully and ask around when you arrive at new breaks and you will be rewarded with some good surfing. It may be worth taking a local guide with you the first couple of times if driving, since some of the beaches here are used as roads and you may end up driving for many kilometres along sandy beaches to find isolated surf breaks only known to the locals. Its not uncommon even for 4*4 vehicles to get stuck in the sand, but a good local guide will know how to make the most basic rental car capable of travelling along the soft sand without any problems. Happy exploring!!!

Taíba - I'm from Ceará n' for the last years the Taíba has became the main surfpoint of the state.
I think that This fact should be more detached on site.

... the beach of "leste" is important too. More than Paracuru for example!!

a lot!!!

paracaru - paracaru is really a top surf spot. Locals friendly, cosy beach bars, not at all commercial. And waves especially with low tide absolutely freaky!!! i am surfer and windsurfer. You should go there. And for a very easy going surf check jericoacoara. The atmosphere is amazing!
