It needs a semi decent swell- Ulus needs to be getting towards 6 foot for Bingin to be 2-3 foot.
On a decent 3-4foot day at Bingin you can count your self lucky if there are less than 20 people out. There will more likely be 25+.
Then there are the locals............
I've heard guys saying that the worst thing anyone ever did was give the Balinese local boys surfboards. You'll need to make your own mind up on this one, but its fair to say that when there are 5 or 6 of them out there, you can pretty much kiss good bye to any one the set waves.

English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Its a short fun, guaranteed barrel. Its also dangerous for the inexperienced surfer.
You should not paddle out here unless you are good with crowds, dont mind being dropped in on, dont mind bouncing off the reef and most importantly, dont mind being surrounded by 30 guys in an area the size of a half a tennis court!

dropping in - What is wrong with these retarded that drop on people...its bad enough on beachbreak but not when you surf shallow reef you stupid tw*ts...

Roy Fenton - next time one of the foamy kids whacks an ARS over your head or takes off ona 8ft crusher that would have you and your surfboard crumple in two... think about the co-ordination of your retarded hate .
Your just mad coz lids rule this wave , go somewhere else . or do us a favour and take a supersize bite of the reef there and shut it !

kiddy wrigglers - the best place to bodyboard in bali is on the sand. because all you boogers should be embarassed that you lack the brain cells/co ordination to stand up-right. instead you congregate in little packs looking ridiculous with your "flippers" wriggling into waves. seriously bodyboarding is ok when you are 8 years old but when you get older...nahh. i dont undestand the allure of this so called hobby of looking like an idiot. next time you go to the beach, have a look at the children on their styrofoam b/boards catching straight-handers in the whitewash..this is what you look like.
