careful on the roads - just be wary of the shore-pound on heavier days, it's HELLACIOUS. btw, your driving along the coastal highway puts you in innumerable sketchy spots compared to the rips. seems road saftey ed. ought to take priority when the idea of ocean recreation is, for the most part, a foreign concept.

- It's ok to surf hereNot that dangerous
De Anonymous , 02-08-2006
Just wondering - I was traveling on the east coast with my wife when I first saw this spot. It was going off and absolutely empty. I asked some locals if anyone surfed in the area. They all said it was too dangerous due to rips and undertow. My wife, who is Taiwanese said that in school they were taught that the east coast was dangerous in this way as a rule of thumb. Does anyone know the truth about this specific area?

surfing the magazine - is the wavy bridge the one that got the spread in the newest surfer (with Kelly holding up 7 fingers) ?
De anonymous , 17-06-2005
- no, palm point is in Java...this place you are talking about doesn't even exist, so stop looking...If you look, don't look over there by that bridge...there's nothing over there...

Chenggong - It is called Palmpoint or Chenggong. Also south of that is a pretty good place to surf called Donghe(by Donghe Bridge). It is about 20 minutes by car south of Chenggong. Those places are good for anything head-high or under in general.

What is the Left just south of 3 Fairy Platform? - There is an isthmus going out to an island and a funny wavy looking bridge. I found a fantastic left going off at about 5'-6' with a very loong ride. Probably about 300m probably even longer (a walk back job). It is a left hand point break that comes into a sheltered bay with an inside reef all the way along. It is almost a replica of Era Point (for those that know it). Looking through the palms at this place I could swear I was in Bali somewhere, especially with the intense heat of summer.

Yeah those 8 Fairies go off! - I once saw them in the caves in a 'backscratch line', but only they were banging each other good. Can't decide if I want to be in front or back or middle.

The echo of the ocean - yap right, you can also try to hear the echo from the ocean if there is no waves, it's really an unforgetable experience when you standing up there to watch the east coast of taiwan

8 Fairies - I remember back about 3 years ago, goin and catching a few waves with my friends, then walking over to the caves across the road, and I saw the eight faires givin each othe rim jobs. I droped my board and got in on the action real quick. It was great. You know if you dont catch any waves here you can at least catch some cock.
