Drive down the steep winding road, park at the bottom of the hill.

Probably the best wave on the island, Ball Bay is found at the southern end of a deep water bay. It needs a big swell from the south or east to wrap in and unfortunately doesn't break that often, but it is a good spot to check if the south side is maxed out. It is usually pretty clean due to its sheltered position. When it turns on it is a classy righthand point break reminiscent of Noosa National Park or Lennox. At 3 foot or below it breaks too close to the rocks and is an exercise in boulder-dodging, so it is best at 4-8ft. It is a walled-up wave that hugs the rocks and gets faster as you surf down the line, eventually closing out. It is best suited to open face carves, with a hollow tube you are lucky to make it out of on the inside.
