Been there done that - been surfing and spearing the coast for 27 years carties especially, boogie boards were for grandad on family day.You got no idea how good this place used to be, allways said i would retire here cant stand the place now, choked up mess, regards happier days.

carties - I got a sick big blowout crowd was hooting and cheering for me lol 2to 3m swell big brown waves I got many good waves even if its green or blue I'm stoked that blowout was sick! big deep long tube I went into thenafter that alot of wind came lol out

sweet break - this spot is a very good break.


its hell fun to surf..

it works best on a mid-tide but the worst is high-tide cause it can get way to fat

Does it break - I've never seen this place even break above 1 foot. There's plenty of beachies around that I recommend before even stopping in the car park here.

carties - it sucks at low tide. don't bother. you only get a small ride and then you have rocks everywhere.
best spot at high tide, might get a little crowded though.
also watch out for the scuba divers and the people spear fishing. they get in your way.
but all in all great spot.

Needs size - Carties is fun when it has alot of swell, other times it is abit gutless. Needs to be head and a half to break through hard.

Sharks!! - I went spear fishing of carties today because there was no surf. We dove down a ledge to see a 4 foot bull shark lookin back at us. I am only 13 so me and my mates preety much walked on water to get back to the rocks.

Used to be good ... - Carties is farked. Too many little kooks and drop ins these days. Only when its 6-8 feet do you get it to yourself cos they all go and surf mooloolaba. Dont go there if its 3-4 foot and you hate crowds. Go surf platties instead. Much better than carties.
