Geral
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): This is a great spot for learners, theres even a surf school here! Its a crumbly long peak, perfect for climbing slowly to your feet... Mind you, even this place has its moments.

- Seems to be a bit crowded at park beach over the last couple of months, March and April. After work and weekends when the surf is on.
Surf was a good size today. The faces were over head height. Big swell, off shore and sunny.

park beach surf - Good solid roll of swell coming into Park Beach this afternoon. Been blowing over the last week or so (south westerly/westerly).
Heaps of weed about near the rocks after the wind, so bit annoying paddling out, caught in leg rope etc.
Looked at the Clifton webcam late in the afternoon on coastview.com.au and it was crummy and closing out (SW swell/SE wind/low tide). At the same time it was chest height and pealing at Park beach. Got to study the swell and wind. Has to have a good roll of swell for park beach to be OK.
Park Beach has a few peaks: near the rocks (rights), bit of a peak 50m from that, then further down the beach (lefts and rights) but breaks fast. Probably try low tide or mid tide coming in. Today at low tide the waves can be seen to jack up out further when they hit the bank, but then drop down when they come in, unless its a bigger set (5-10 min duration).
Park beach is convenient since the car park is right at the break. Hasn't been real crowed lately. If there isn't any swell, probably check out North Clifton, but takes longer to walk down to the beach.

Park Beach Crowds - This break is the most congested in Tasmania. There are two peaks and they are both busy as of first light. It is alos the beach of choice for southern Tas surf schools and there has been a great deal of bad feeling generated by one operator who has insisted on taking his groups into the two peak zone. There has been an ensuing prevalance of return surfers on softbaords and mals whgo have little experience and no nothing of surf etiquette. be prepared to be dropped in on and having to dodge boards that have been thrown aside as the surfer bails. The surf culture here as been irretrievably damaged - not recommended.
