 Informações suplementares

There is a fantastic monastery on top of the beach, two very good restaurants and a small hotel with a lovely view of the bay and the beach.

It has a free hidden camp area if you do not want to rent a hotel room; People here are very friendly and supportive. No localism. On the beach you will find a small cafeteria (drinks and toasts) and a small surf shop that provides surfboard rentals and equipment.

The downside is that the closest supermarket is far away and doesn't have a lot of stuff so you have to travel all the way back to the big town (Tinos) to properly stock up.

There is a nice current that pulls you out towards the sea to the line up area.

The waves here can get very large. As shown in the image bellow:

- You are more likely to get waves in winter when the weather is frontal. The summer meltemi winds may be strong, but do not have enough density or spread (they are thermic and usually it is far windier on the downwind coast rather than the upwind (in the case of the meltemi, the north part of Greek islands are less windy).
In winter though, the winds are all over the aegean, not only near the islands (thermic phenomenon) and you get some ok waves (maybe big ones too! )
