There are two surfable spots in Cesenatico, both to the north of the harbour. Go to the Spiaggia Ponente (North beach). On spot is in front of the Bagno Universale, home of the Frozen Nuts surf club and 150 m north of the harbour. The other spot is at the just north of the boat club roughly 300m north of the harbour and works best with SW swells. Being a 130 Km stretch to the coast of ex Yugoslavia, waves are certainly not oceanic here in Cesenatico but SW swells and storms can produce waves of over 1.5m and there are many kick ass shortboard local surfers as well as longboarders most of whom you'll find at the Frozen Nuts surf Club when they're not in the water chasing waves. As decent waves are rare for shortboarders a good day on a weekend can get crowded but locals are friendly especially with hot lady surfers.
