Oh Dear - I live (& Surf) in Brighton. I agree it's an absolutely appalling place to surf IN COMPARISON TO CORNWALL, S.W WEST FRANCE, CALIF etc, etc. However if you live here and are stuck here then when it's blowing a SW you can look forward to some poor surf. The best thing about it ? I love to surf and live to travel to new spots and am considering moving to somewhere where I can get it better and more. Surely that's no bad thing. All we can do is use what we have. I do agree that just having asurfing population should not qualify/justify putting these spots on the map - cos they're crap. The worst thing about that photo is that I can count 4 or 5 guys out !!!! embarassing.

west pier brighton - the west pier can get alot better than your photo shows,usually on a big sw blow but it can also handle agroundswell. longboard wave really
