English (Traduzir este texto em Português): The heart of Dyfed's surfing is to be found at Freash Water West. Can be a bit tricky to find, its pretty close to the texco oil plant. Parking can be tricky as the car parks are always busy. Watch out for the rips, works best on high but also works on all tides. As the name implies, the long, sandy beach is both unpolluted and westerly facing.Exposed to the depths of the Atlantic, this corner or Wales will catch any SW swell running.
A series or reefs link the two bays together, with particularly good sandbars in the summer months at the extrems of the tides. The southernmost beach is M.O.D and firing times are indicated by the red flags.
The best waves tend to break on the jagged rocks to the south end of the beach, giving good hollow rides of up to 100mtrs+ in length.
Rips can be strong here,so beware.
Parking easy along side beach.

The Pole - Y Bocs is a made up name for The Pole, a break well known by most locals for twenty years and more. A look at an OS map will show a long reef extending out from the beach to the south of fresh - frainslake - and the wave breaks off the end of this reef. The beach is on a military firing range and a man sits in an office at Castlemartin Camp watching the various cctv cams that cover the area. If you're there without a pass you get arrested. The Pole itself is quite fickle and only works for a short time at a specific stage of tide. Additionally, it is a savage and dangerous wave that requires considerable skill to surf. Unless you're happy with heavy, barrelling top-to-bottom waves don't even think about it. You might die.

Reply to F~[# Off n Die! - Unfortunately for you, the beach is not yours! I can appreciate your views as I was brought up in Pembs; having said that, when I go back to ‘my’ local breaks for a chilled surf session there is occasionally a bit of attitude from some cheese dick that thinks he/she owns the beach. They are usually 10 years younger, don’t have a welsh connection and need a couple of slaps to bring them back down to earth! There is of course that region called – ‘Little England’! Go home!

PSR LOCALS - Most of the locals in this area have PSR stickers on their boards and cars, it seems to give them priority in the water.
