Park in the abandon store parking lot and paddle across the river or go around the corner and you will see a dirt road to your right. Take that road for about 50m park in the field and walk over the dune.

Ambiente

There is a sizeable river that narrows to a small channel that is about 5-6ft deep at low tide and the water really rips. When the swell is coming in the combination can be a really cool wave that jacks up nicely. It is best to go close to the ebb to avoid the rip. If you are impatient and have to get out there you can surf the other end of the beach until the tide starts to let up. This spot is best in the fall during hurricane season. The small beach is at the end of a wide bay. As a result, you can see what appears to be a small wave jack-up to twice its size in a matter of seconds. The result is a ride that is powerful, and fast, but not overly long.

Geral

This is a great spot if you want to escape the Halifax crowds. The water in the river is tidal and shallow. This allows the water to get super warm, well into the 70s and potentially the 80s. When the tide turns it carrys all of that warm water to the beach. The bad news is that it smells like shit, literally, but it won't hurt you. The locals are really friendly but look at surfers as bonified wingnuts. When your out, it won't be uncommon to see them driving down on their four wheelers for a look at the crazy guy/girl in the water. Either that or they are coming down to shoot what they think is a seal. I'm not sure but I haven't been shot yet. You might see a swimmer on a really rare hot and sunny day in August, maybe. In all it is a great place to have fun with NO crowds.

Short and fun - Yeah, I was there on the Canada day weekend. It is really shallow if you wipe out and a long drive from anywhere. But, there's no localism and it is very regular. Small fun stuff.

Da Goose - No Goose Chase. Eastern brook can be seen from this beach and if the beach isn't working you can go over there and usually score some lefts. You want to do it in Sept - Dec though. It rarely gets good in the summer unless you have big systems coming up the coast. It is not as good as places closer to the city but there is nobody there and that is the romance. There is also a bay on the right hand side I call Minefields because of all the MASSIVE boulders and boils. You can get super long rides there but you don't want to screw up! Good luck.

lone ranger - Is this a wild goose chase?
