 Informações suplementares

Access is a little tricky. There are submerged rocks at the edge of the water that tear up a board. The left side of the bay is easiest to handle.

Ambiente

Great little spot. Most folks go to Hookipa for the name. The waves are good at Turtle. The cliffs keep the wind off it a little more than anywhere else.

Geral

My first Hawaiian wave caught here. Pavillions was crowded and I was all alone. 3-4ft Hawaiian juice in the middle of summer!

- Yea...its not really a break you can count on. Hookipa is on the other side of the cliff and is way more consistant, but when its big and hookipas line up is packed...turtle bay is the okace to be( i think).

Na, Bu, shatty - Regional classic? Don't miss it? Many better spots in the very near vicinity. Rarely gets really good.

Turtle Bay - Turtle Bay is very critical. When it is about 4-6ft., somtimes the current can get really strong. The drop is really fun. Especially on the left, which after the drop has a cryp bowl. It is super shallow and dangerous. I got stuck in an under water cave in 2001 winter. There are hundreds of shark nestings. So you shouldn't surf there. R.I.P Kauikahanamoku Jr.
