- Rochas
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): 2 breaks really... a mushy peak in the cove near the river mouth and up around the point a fun wave that walls up for a long time .
Ambiente
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Hardly anybody goes out here. On most days two or three older guys on longboards sharing and trading waves. I saw a guy here once riding the nose all the way along the rocks from the take of spot to the east.
Geral

no waves - even if you were to have access to this beach, there are no waves worth surfing. Maybe on a kayak.

NO Pillar Point - The directions given to the surf spot off Pillar Point are not valid. The access is on Private Property, owned by M&R. I emailed them about beach access specifically for surfing and the replied simply: " The beach is closed to all public access. Sincerely, Joseph F.Murray "So just for any FYI, there is NO pillar point unless you of course have the advantage of skirting the Straits by boat.Furthermore, I'd just like to add a comment about all that, is that when I visited Pysht River Road and talked with them in person on 10/17/04, they explained that to allow access for surfing is forbiidden due to "liability issues". However if you visit http://www.merrillring.com/, you'll see that they DO allow hunting on their properties. So I guess that waves are more dangerous than bullets around those parts.Thats all I have to report, PEACE!-NCK

Epic Spot! - Don't be fooled by the low stars (half who are honest grade it "excellent" and the other half who are trying to keep it secret grade it "rubbish"). But read the description again: "Up around the point A FUN WAVE that WALLS UP AND BARRELS FOR A LONG TIME..." Does that sound like RUBBISH to you? Didn't think so. I.E. this is truly an epic wave! People will try to tell you it's not so they can keep it to their greedy selves. But don't take it from me - get a boat in, or hike the trail - but be careful of the wilds especailly in hunting season. Or check Google Earth or WA pics from the sky to get the true picture of how unreal this wave is. The left off the point is very consisent because it has good exposure and comes out of deep water and hits the sandbar along the point protected from the wind and it reels off fast and hollow for about 80 yards plus - maybe not long by Strait standards but the quality, consistency and isolation more than makes up for it. So don't let the 3 or 4 greedy dipwads who frequent this spot mislead you here - there is an EXCELLENT wave at the point and it is very consistent. It is kind of hard to get to though, but classic! This is what they base all those classic Strait surf paintings and pics on - a long left wrapping along a thickly forested point. Some would not want you to know however. They prefer to sell you gear, but it ends there...
