English (Traduzir este texto em Português): When this place is working it can be very good. I have been there and seen it 10ft +. I would say it is for exprienced surfers becuase when the tide starts going out you better know how to paddle very well. Seen people get sucked all the way out the the bouy and had to be rescued by the cost guard. Some times the westport cam is directed towards the groins, however mostly toward the cove. Park your car right on the other side of the break wall.<br />Great spot for shortboarders. Just park your car on the other side of the jetty, keep it securely locked because lots of things have been stolen. It breaks right in front of the 4th jetty on teh third groin. Use the rip to get into position for the peak, and you better be aware, because the current is very swift. You can watch the wave form for a long time, and you can see as it reaches the current, the water just gets sucked up the face. Paddle hard and pop up as quickly as possible. Milk as much as you can out of the wave, because the rides are usually pretty short, but you should have enough time to make a few turns or airs if your lucky, you might even get shacked. Its better to just ride in to the beach and walk back over the 4th jetty and paddle back out then to fight the rip.
Ambiente
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): This is a very fun spot to surf when the jetty is out of control or when you feel like some smooth longboard waves. I suggest hauling your beautiful longboard in a bag over the break wall rather than trying to navigate the narly bolders. Put too mayn dings in my board trying to crawl over the rocks. Just have to find you "secret" smooth way down.
Geral
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Fun spot to surf. Just be very carefull of the current. Of every spot i have surferd in washington i think that the groins has the worst rip. Very VERY stong. With the exchnage from grays harbor a lot of water is being sucked out. Have fun. Can get crowded, but with the movement of the tides it opens up other breaks along the small jetties.

Great spot - I have lived in teh NW all my life and surfed all over. Other than this water being cold (just like everywhere in the NW), this spot kicks ass! I have more fun here than at seaside point. Some localism but for the most part if you show a "little" respect then your off and surfing. Unlike seaside point... you show up and so respect it is seen as weakness... so they are hostile and you are hostile. And for me... I am able to pull it off.. but thats not what surfing is about, for me. You'll love this place...

- the groins are an awesome place to surf and a great place for beginers to learn. long lefts. works best on a falling tide on a 6-12ft west or southwest swell. go on south winds.the cove is also a great place to surf. lots of toobs and it's a real easy paddle out even on the biggest days. works best on a high tide with a big north west swell. south or south east winds.the jetty is good too. great waves right in the corner and the rip alog the jetty gets you right to the line up in a snap. works best on a combo swell 3-7ft with east winds.the locals are so easy going. they dont mind sharing a sesh with a kook or 30. they are such nice people there and they need a bunch of new faces to make friends with.

no beginners - you should stay out of there if you are a beginner - you will get run over / not because of attitude, but because of too many people in an area the size of the key on a basketball court
go to the south jetty of the columbia in summer - the jetty is huge and cuts down all the chop
