Don't ask for Vala do Mauri, nobody knows who is or was this guy. Some say that he was a local in 70`s who took the best barrels ever seen there. Have a parking lot along all Barra da Tijuca Beach. Nobody knows exactly why these spot is called Vala de Mauri. Some say that Mauri was the best surfer in this spot in the 70s, others say he was the first guy who rides these waves.
